APMT1605PDER Carbide Shoulder Milling Insert

90° positive-rake shoulder milling insert, 16 mm cutting edge length, 5.5 mm thickness and 0.8 mm corner radius (PDER geometry). Designed for high-performance roughing and semi-finishing on CNC milling centers.

Made from sub-micron grain carbide with advanced multi-layer PVD coating, this insert offers excellent toughness and wear resistance when machining carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel. The optimized PDER chipbreaker ensures smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting across a wide range of parameters:

  • Axial depth of cut (ap): 3.5 – 10.0 mm

  • Feed rate (f): 0.07 – 0.50 mm/tooth

Compatible with standard APMT/APKT shoulder milling cutters. Ideal for shoulder milling, ramping, pocketing, slotting and contouring where high metal removal rate, good surface finish and reliable tool life are required. Direct replacement for common APMT1605PDER inserts.
