PRODUCT DETAILS
The ICF Series 3xD Coolant Through Carbide Drills are engineered for high-efficiency, shallow-depth precision drilling where heat control and chip evacuation are critical. With a drilling depth of 3xD, these drills offer a short, rigid structure that ensures excellent stability even under high spindle loads.
Featuring a dual helical internal coolant channel design, coolant is delivered directly to the cutting edges, effectively eliminating heat buildup and chip congestion when machining stainless steel, titanium alloys, and hardened steels. Cutting diameters range from 2.4mm to 20.0mm in precise 0.1mm increments. The shank diameter is reinforced according to DIN standards, matching or slightly exceeding the upper diameter group to guarantee zero runout under high torque.
Manufactured from imported sub-micron grain carbide and available with AlCrN, TiAlN, or Nano-Blue coatings, the ICF 3xD series delivers mirror-like hole finishes and consistent accuracy in demanding CNC production environments. Widely used in mold making, automotive components, aerospace hydraulics, and medical implants, this series has become a top-selling internal coolant drill for stainless steel machining.

Q: What is the difference between 3xD and 5xD / 8xD drills?
A: The 3xD drill is shorter and more rigid, ideal for shallow holes and high-efficiency automated production. Longer L/D ratios are recommended for deep cavities.
Q: What is the minimum coolant pressure required?
A: A minimum of 20 bar is recommended for optimal performance. The drill is also compatible with MQL systems.
Q: Can it machine hardened steel above 55 HRC?
A: With the AlCrN coating and high-pressure internal coolant, machining up to 60 HRC is achievable under controlled conditions.
| Series | Depth Ratio | Typical Use | Positioning |
