AL Series (Uncoated) + ALC Series (DLC Coated) – 45°+ Helix for Ultra-High Speed Machining

Aluminum and its alloys are soft, sticky, and prone to built-up edge (BUE). Standard steel-cutting tools quickly cause chip welding, poor surface finish, and short tool life. That’s why Amony offers two dedicated series: AL Series (uncoated) and ALC Series (DLC coated) – both engineered with high helix angles (45°–50°), 3-flute designs, large chip gullets, and razor-sharp polished edges.
Ideal for dry machining or when maximum edge sharpness is required. 45°+ helix angle + full polished flutes (Ra ≤0.2 μm) provide excellent chip evacuation even in deep slots and thin-wall parts. Perfect for 6061, 7075, 5083, pure aluminum, and copper. Typical applications: aerospace panels, automotive wheels, electronic enclosures.
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating dramatically reduces friction (coefficient ~0.1) and prevents aluminum from sticking to the tool. Allows higher speeds, better surface finish (Ra <0.4 μm), and 3–6× longer tool life than uncoated tools. Especially recommended for wet machining, high-volume production, or when mirror finish is required (medical parts, optical components, consumer electronics).
Both series use ultra-fine grain carbide (0.2–0.4 μm), 5-axis precision grinding, and are 100% inspected. Available geometries: 2/3/4 flutes, square, ball nose, corner radius (0.1–6 mm), long neck, roughing chip-breaker, and custom designs.
Real results: one customer machining 7075 aerospace parts increased tool life from 90 min to 8+ hours and achieved mirror surface finish without polishing.
| Series | Coating | Helix Angle | Best For | Typical Tool Life Gain |

| ALC Series | DLC | 45°–50° | Wet/dry, anti-stick, mirror finish, high volume | 3–6× longer |
