PRODUCT DETAILS
The Comb Type Thread Milling Insert is a form-ground, multi-tooth carbide insert designed for high-productivity thread machining on CNC machining centers.
By engaging multiple cutting teeth simultaneously, the insert allows the complete thread profile to be machined in a single or limited number of helical interpolation passes, significantly reducing cycle time compared to single-point thread milling.
This solution is widely used in applications where thread accuracy, pitch consistency, and machining stability are critical.
Comb-type multi-tooth cutting design for maximum efficiency
Form-ground cutting edges ensure precise thread geometry
Central screw clamping provides stable and repeatable positioning
Distributed cutting forces reduce vibration and tool wear
Ideal for batch production and high-volume threading
Our comb type thread milling inserts cover a wide range of international thread standards. According to application characteristics, they can be grouped into the following technical categories.
| Thread Standard | Thread Angle | SEO-Oriented Technical Description |
|---|---|---|
| API RD | 60° | API round thread standard used for oil and gas tubing and casing connections. Designed to withstand high torque, cyclic load, and harsh downhole environments. |
| Thread Standard | Thread Angle | SEO-Oriented Technical Description |
|---|---|---|
| NPT / NPTF | 60° | American tapered pipe threads for fluid and gas sealing. NPTF provides dry-seal performance without additional sealing materials. |
| NPS / NPSF | 60° | Straight pipe threads used in mechanical pipe connections. NPSF offers dry-seal capability with controlled thread interference. |
| BSW / BSF / BSP | 55° | British Whitworth thread forms. BSP threads are widely applied in hydraulic and pneumatic pipe systems. |

|---|---|---|
| ISO Metric | 60° | International metric thread standard for general fastening and precision components. Commonly used across global mechanical and industrial applications. |
| UN / UNC / UNF | 60° | Unified thread system widely used in North America. UNC for coarse threads, UNF for fine threads requiring higher clamping force. |
| PG (DIN 40430) | 80° | German conduit thread standard mainly used for electrical installations and steel cable protection systems. |

|---|---|---|
| ACME / STACME | 29° | Trapezoidal thread profiles for power transmission. STACME features reduced tooth height for compact and high-strength designs. |
| TR (Metric Trapezoidal) | 30° | Metric trapezoidal threads used for lead screws, linear motion systems, and heavy-duty mechanical drives. |
| ABUT (Buttress) | 7° / 45° | Asymmetric saw-tooth thread designed to carry high axial load primarily in one direction, ideal for presses and heavy machinery. |
