The LXD Series 20xD Deep Hole Solid Carbide Drill represents the upper limit of conventional carbide drilling, delivering a drilling depth of up to 20 times the tool diameter. It is engineered for extreme deep-hole applications where traditional gun drilling systems are costly, complex, or inefficient.
Featuring an extra-wide parabolic flute geometry combined with external high-pressure coolant, the LXD 20xD drill ensures uninterrupted chip evacuation and stable thermal control throughout the full drilling depth. This design minimizes chip packing, vibration, and axial deviation in ultra-deep cavities.
Manufactured from premium submicron solid carbide and protected by a dual-layer AlTiN / Nano-Blue coating system, the drill maintains cutting stability in Ti6Al4V titanium alloys, mold steels, and stainless steels under extreme thermal and mechanical loads. Straightness is controlled within < 0.08 mm over the full depth.
Typical applications include aerospace long-hole structures, ultra-deep mold cavities, hydraulic long-bore components, and other high-end CNC machining environments where depth, reliability, and process stability are critical.
