The LXD Series 15xD Deep Hole Solid Carbide Drill is engineered for extreme deep-hole drilling applications traditionally dominated by gun drills. With a drilling depth of up to 15 times the diameter, this tool enables one-pass drilling in titanium alloys, stainless steels, and hardened steels up to 55 HRC.
The combination of an extra-wide parabolic flute geometry and external high-pressure coolant ensures stable chip evacuation and effective heat dissipation, even in ultra-deep holes. This design significantly reduces chip jamming, tool deflection, and thermal deformation.
Manufactured from premium solid carbide and coated with AlTiN or AlCrN, the LXD 15xD drill delivers a tool life comparable to gun drills, while reducing tooling cost to approximately one-third of traditional deep-hole systems.
Typical applications include aerospace structural beams, hydraulic cylinders, mold ultra-deep cavities, and other demanding CNC machining scenarios where depth, straightness, and reliability are critical.
